India’s new GST 2.0 regime is already making waves — and car buyers are in for a treat. Starting September 22, 2025, revised GST rates will come into effect, reducing the tax burden on small cars and two-wheelers. In response, Renault India has announced massive price cuts across its popular models, passing the full benefit directly to customers.
Renault’s New Price Cuts (Ex-showroom)

These revised prices apply to all deliveries from September 22, but bookings at the new rates are already open nationwide.

What Changed in GST 2.0?
The GST Council has restructured tax slabs to make vehicles more affordable:
- 🚙 Petrol, CNG, LPG cars under 1200cc and diesel cars under 1500cc now attract 18% GST (down from 28%)
- 🏍️ Motorcycles up to 350cc also fall under the 18% slab
- 🚘 Premium cars above 1200cc and bikes above 350cc now face a 40% GST, up from 28%
This move is expected to boost demand during the festive season, especially for budget-friendly and mid-range vehicles.
