iPhone 17 : Including GPT-5 Integration

Apple is gearing up for its much-anticipated September launch event, where it will unveil the next generation of iPhones. This year’s lineup includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Interestingly, leaks suggest Apple may skip the “Plus” variant and instead introduce a sleek new model called the iPhone 17 Air—rumored to be the thinnest iPhone ever.

Expected Launch Date & Pre-Orders

Apple traditionally holds its iPhone event in early September, streamed live from the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino. While the company hasn’t confirmed the date yet, industry insiders expect the keynote to happen on September 9 at 10 AM PT (that’s 10:30 PM IST).

If this timeline holds, pre-orders for the iPhone 17 series could begin on September 12. However, availability may vary by model—especially if Apple introduces new categories like the iPhone 17 Air.

GPT-5 Integration with Apple Intelligence?

With the recent release of OpenAI’s GPT-5, many are wondering when Apple will upgrade its AI assistant. Currently, ChatGPT on Apple Intelligence runs on GPT-4o, and is available on:

• iOS 18
• iPadOS 18
• macOS Sequoia
• visionOS 2

According to reports from 9to5Mac, GPT-5 integration is expected to arrive with iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe 26—and it could happen sooner than expected.

Apple also announced at WWDC that developers will soon be able to build apps using its on-device foundational AI model, the same tech that powers Apple Intelligence.
