Mumbai : The countdown has begun for what’s being hailed as the biggest Hindi film release of the year: War 2, the sixth installment in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has made significant changes to War 2 before granting it a U/A 16+ certificate:

50% reduction in sensual visuals, especially scenes featuring Kiara Advani in a bikini from the song “Aavan Jaavan”.
Muted inappropriate references in six places.
Obscene dialogue replaced with a cleaner version.
Two-second obscene gesture deleted.

The film’s runtime was also trimmed from nearly 3 hours to 2 hours 51 minutes, ensuring a tighter pace.

War 2 is targeting the biggest Hindi release ever, with:

5,000 screens booked across India for the Hindi version alone.
90% of single screens and 80–85% of multiplexes secured by YRF.
Premium formats like IMAX, 4DX, ICE, and Dolby Cinema dominating metro cities.
Advance bookings opened on August 10 for Hindi, and August 11 for Telugu and Tamil versions.

Despite competition from Rajinikanth’s Coolie, War 2 is expected to dominate the Hindi belt and set new box office benchmarks.
